In Memorium

Hans Sauer

The Four Wheelin' Women's ATV Charity Ride for Male Breast Cancer Awareness began in 2000 after Founder, Nancy Ord, lost her 57 year old father to breast cancer in 1998.

At that time, Male Breast Cancer was still a very unheard of cancer for the male gender. He fought for over 7 years with the disease, with his wife Ingrid giving him the strength he needed to fight each new day. His courageous fight ended just before his 58th birthday, with his family by his side, on August 31st, 1998.

With very little information available about Male Breast Cancer, Nancy decided that as a legacy to her father, she would help spread the word that this type of cancer is not gender specific, as she and her family learned first hand.

Now, as the last first Saturday of May approaches each year, the annual event in his memory continues to grow each and every year. Our goal is to spread the word to as many people as possible about the risks of male breast cancer and to save as many male lives as we can by giving them this information.

…..BECAUSE MEN GET BREAST CANCER TOO!!!!!!

Kelly Shires

On October 31st, Kelly Shires lost her courageous battle with Breast Cancer, with her family and friends by her side. For those that never got a chance to meet her, Kelly was one-of-a-kind and an inspiration to all, men and women alike.

In February 2000, she began the Kelly Shires Snow Run For Fun, an annualsnowmobile charity ride to raise funds for women recently diagnosed with breast cancer and unable to pay for the high costs involved with treatments, medications, travel, etc.

Kelly, herself a survivor at that time, inspired all who met her to live each day to the fullest and we all learned to live by her saying "Dance like no one is watching!" When her cancer returned, she put her chin up even higher than before and went head strong into making her annual event bigger and better.

It was with her inspiration and encouragement that helped the Four Wheelin' Women be what it is today. Kelly was a strong supporter and was always at the FWW annual rides in spirit, as her cancer had kept her from joining us each year.

She will be missed. Let's continue fighting this horrific disease and make the 5th Annual Four Wheelin' Women's ATV Charity Ride the biggest one yet!! To Harlow Watson and Kim Fish, please meet Kelly at the gates and show her what a wonderful place she has gone to.

Harlow Watson

It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of one of our newest members of the Four Wheelin' Women. Harlow Watson lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer several weeks after the 3rd Annual charity ride. I was honoured to have met such a wonderful woman and her strength and determination will live on in all of those who lives she touched. A special prayer goes out to her husband Ken and her sister Harlene. A special memorial award is currently in the works so that we can honour Harlow, and all those other men and women, who continue to fight this terrible disease.
